New Smyrna Beach is home to some of the best inshore fishing for Redfish in the world. Several locations across the nation produce great action but nothing like this. While you are here for vacation or truly searching for that trophy bull redfish, make sure you get out and give it your best chance. It seems like this time of year is one of the best times to do so. Hop on board and let your local expert cruise you to the spot where you will hook into the biggest fish of your life.
Every year people travel to Florida and specifically New Smyrna Beach to come catch this Bull Redfish. A last minute change to plans led 90 year old Chris and his grandson Christopher on an amazing journey to catch redfish. Mosquito Lagoon has been one of the most productive areas to do this in the whole state. Due to the excellent conditions even though it has its water issues, you can catch big redfish here most of the year.
The main goal of this fishing charter was landing the biggest fish of their life. They wanted to shatter both of their redfish records. The west coast has some excellent fishing as well but nothing like this east coast action. It was a must that they traveled from Tampa to search out a bucket list fish. Consequently, they ended up catching multiple over sized bull redfish.
Captain Brad put Chris and Christopher on 7 oversized bull redfish. One of the fish was 46 inches long and got to live another day. As well, one of the redfish was truly unique. It had 93 spots on it. You don’t get to see or catch this quality of fish every fishing trip. If you are looking to get in on some of this fishing action, you have to Visit New Smyrna Beach.
Chris and Christopher got to spend some quality time and had an absolute blast fishing this amazing place. They will be back to the east coast for more action. Captain Brad is looking forward to the opportunity to get them back on the water again soon!

Florida Trophy Redfish Fishing
September starts a season of some of the best inshore fishing in Florida. Explore the backwaters of different cities to uncover an experience worth-while. Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing is here and will be absolutely amazing all the way until November. If you haven’t caught one yet, now is the time to adventure out and do so. New Smyrna Beach is a hot spot for producing countless numbers of trophy classed fish.
The Halifax River is the major waterway that drains and leads to the Mosquito Lagoon. It exits and meets up with the Atlantic Ocean at Ponce de Leon Inlet. This inlet is famous for gateways to the Gulf Stream and exceptional New Smyrna Beach offshore fishing. As the water moves past the inlet, it enters the Indian River. Indian River provides waterways, marshes, estuaries and backwaters for hunting down your favorite inshore fishing species. You can count of catches of Big Bull Red Fish but also gator sea trout, snook, jack crevalles and more!
In order to have a successful day on the water, you have to have some expert knowledge of how to target these species. Our local expert Captains have years of experience learning new ways and effective methods in order to catch the biggest fish out of the Indian River. Trophy Red Fish are common if you know how to target them. When you fish with iOutdoor, you will only get the best Captains that will put you on the fish of your lifetime.
Captain Brad Kayholm is our local expert in New Smyrna Beach. His main focus is putting clients on the biggest inshore species. Dialing in how to catch Trophy Florida Redfish has been a time consuming but rewarding process. Endless smiles, high fives and laughs come from fishing with Captain Brad.
Captain Brad had the pleasure of fishing with his brother Jeff. Some days you have to adventure out with family and put them on their fish of their dreams. One of the most rewarding parts about this fishing trip is that Jeff brought along his 4 year old son, Mason. The original fishing plans were to go offshore but conditions were unpredictable. When this occurs the best bet was to go New Smyrna Beach inshore fishing in hunt for a Red Fish.

One of the lost arts about being in the outdoors and more specifically fishing is patience. Firstly, when you go fishing, you can’t always expect to catch fish. You are not obligated to a fish but putting yourself in the best position to do so. The people that stay patient are usually the ones that are rewarded.
Captain Brad has a repertoire of different locations that produce fish during these next couple of months. Sometimes you have to travel to multiple locations in order to locate where the red fish are moving to. Throughout these next couple of months, live bait will be the most effective method to catching red fish. We would advise using crabs or pin fish in order to target these bigger fish.

Just shortly after casting out our bait, Jeff was hooked up. You could tell that this fish was big as the drag peeled off the reel and the rod was bent. It took several hard runs making for a fight of a lifetime. The first fish Jeff landed was a 47 inch Bull Redfish. It was not long after this fish that Jeff was hooked up again, bringing another trophy Florida redfish to the boat. Jeff caught his second trophy measuring in at 46 inches. You may think this is unheard of but this area in North East Florida is known to produce some of the best redfish fishing in the world.
The best part about Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing was the ability to see and share these special moments with clients or family. Just watching the expressions of Mason as his dad reeled in this monster fish was worth the trip. Mason even laid down next to the fish. The redfish was almost the size of Mason and it was absolutely incredible to be able to show him the potential of our fisheries here in Florida.

October is going to be the PRIME month to come Trophy Florida Redfish Fishing. If you are looking for a fish of this magnitude, don’t miss out on this season to come land one. Spend some quality time along the east coast and enjoy the cooler weather while landing the fish of your dreams. There are not many places in the nation that can produce like New Smyrna Beach can. Get out with one of our local experts that will surely put you on them!
We look forward to seeing you on the water next time!!

Miami’s Biscayne Bay is filled with endless adventures and species of fish to catch. Biscayne Bay is a shallow water estuary, a place where the freshwater from the mainland mixes with the saltwater from the sea. One of the hidden gems of this is that the bay provides and serves as a nursery for marine life. Throughout this nursery you will find excellent areas to catch the fish you are after.
When you go out Miami saltwater trout fishing, you can either practice catch and release or harvest within FWC limits. We also recommend catch and release but we also understand that the regulations are set in place to help keep a balance within the ecosystem. Andrew was traveling from Lafayette, Louisiana this summer to Miami, Florida. While he was here, he wanted to get out on the water and soak up the sun in a different way. Lafayette is a fisherman’s paradise but when visiting Miami he found another one, Biscayne Bay.
Miami saltwater trout fishing can be incredible fun during its peak seasons. Throwing top water artificial baits and jigs can lead to an extremely exciting bite. Berkley Gulp was the most effective bait on this fishing trip. Andrew caught numbers of speckled sea trout which made for an excellent day on the water. He also fought and landed a shovelnose shark. This was Andrews’s first time fishing with ultra light tackle. All of his catches came on 8 pound test line.
Andrew also believed in catch and release and let all his fish swim another day. It is a true pleasure to be able to contribute back, allow someone new to experience this ecosystem and also help maintain and provide another person the chance to catch the same fish again. Miami is the ultimate fishing destination to do this!
Captain Brain is looking forward to getting back out on the water with Andrew next time he visits Miami. Don’t miss out on your fishing adventure inshore fishing in Miami. You just never know what you will set the hook into!
