Hold on, for the fight of your life is about to come!
Inshore fishing has been fantastic this month and is only getting better. Captain Brad had the pleasure of fishing with Dave while here on vacation from Iowa. While Dave was visiting, inshore
fishing was a must. He wanted to get the full experience of what Florida has to offer. A New Smyrna Fishing Charter was an exceptional option for Dave.
Captain Brad took Dave on an adventure in the backwaters of Mosquito Lagoon. The early morning topwater action was fantastic. Dave boated over 15 Sea Trout up to 21 Inches. Also, Dave caught several nice redfish in slot or keepers. Dave caught redfish and sea trout on topwater baits which made for a fun day on the water. After the action died down on the flats and backwater, they adventured out into deep waters getting into Sheepshead.
Captain Brad is looking forward to seeing Dave come back for more action in the near future!
Just shortly after this fishing charter, Captain Brad was back out in New Smyrna. This time he had the pleasure of fishing with Rick who was visiting and looking for a fishing adventure. Rick brought along his family for this quick 4-hour fishing charter in the morning hours. The fishing conditions changed making it slightly more difficult to find fish but local expert Brad made this happen for them.
The action was bringing a variety of different species including bluefish, Spanish mackerel, and sheepshead. After several moves, they finally found what they were after. Patience is the key to a good day of Florida fishing. New Smyrna Beach is known for its Redfish fishery and they started to bite later in the trip. Finally, they caught a drag screaming beautiful Redfish measuring in at 36 inches long right at the end of the trip.
This lovely and wonderful family had a fantastic time in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Captain Brad is looking forward to getting them back on the water in the near future!
New Smyrna Inshore Fishing is starting to pick up. As the water warms, the Redfish begin to bite. Captain Brad is on the fish and can show you an amazing time. He caters to all your needs and makes sure that you have the trip of a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you on the water next time while fighting your dream fish!

It was not long after this fishing trip that Captain Brian adventured further north to Fort Lauderdale, FL. He had the pleasure of fishing with Alan and his friends, Tim and Dave. They were traveling from Michigan looking to explore what South Florida had to offer.
The Fort Lauderdale Canals came in strong for these friends. They had 4 big fish on that broke off before they could get them to the boat. One of the unfortunate parts about Florida Inshore Fishing is that sometimes you lose the fish you are after. Alan fought and caught a monster jack crevalle weighing close to 15 pounds. Jacks are a great fish to catch as they fight very hard and long.
Alan and his friends had a great experience here in South Florida while inshore fishing. They will be back for more action. Captain Brian is looking forward to their next adventure in the near future!
Shortly after this awesome fishing trip, Captain Brian was back down in Miami’s Biscayne Bay. This time, he had the pleasure of fishing with Ben and his mom, Randy. The action was not as strong as the last trip here in Miami but they had a great time. Fishing is not always about catching but about soaking in the sun and bonding with your loved ones.
Ben caught all the fish on this fishing trip. He landed a good looking quality Sea Trout along with a bonnethead shark. Miami offers many species and every time you cast your line out, you never know what will bite the end of your line.

Florida fishing whether inshore, offshore or bass fishing is the BEST way to experience Stuart. Take a break from the sandy beaches and hop aboard our local expert fishing vessel for a trip of a lifetime
Stuart may be known for its incredible offshore fishing especially for Sailfish but inshore fishing can be a much better option. If you are looking for a fun activity for the whole family, make sure you check out inshore fishing for a variety of local species. Every month of the year will bring about different opportunities to hunt down that fish you have always dreamed of.
During colder months of the year, finding structure is the most important. Snook, which is the most popular species to catch, can be caught in the backwaters of St Lucie and Indian River. They migrate back into the canals and river systems hugging to mangrove lines, bridges, and many other structures. Getting aboard with a local expert will cut down your time and get you on bigger and better species more time efficient.
You can either use live bait including shrimp, mullet, pinfish, grunts, etc for inshore species. As well as the most preferred method, you can use dead baits such as mullet, bonito, and squid. Visit your local bait and tackle stores to determine which avenue and bait option is going to be the best choice. Most shops have up-to-date information on how the resources are working in your destination.
One of the best structures known to hold excellent inshore fishing is bridges. The Ten-Cent Bridge during the right tides and time of day can provide some of the most incredible inshore fishing in the state. Hold on while you fight the biggest Snook of your life. Along with the might Snook, you can catch Tarpon, Jack Crevalle, Mackerel, Snapper, and Grouper. The action is consistent all year round with peak seasons for species including Snook and Tarpon.
Our Local Expert and Professional Captain Hunter Weston has spent many years of his life determining, learning and fishing this incredible fishing destination. If you are looking for the ULTIMATE inshore fishing experience, make sure you get on his clean fishing vessel into the backwaters of Stuart, FL.
Current Inshore Fishing Report from Captain Hunter out of Stuart, FL:
“As we experience what we Floridians deem as cold weather, the Snook have been on and off for the time being. With that being said, when we have
had a couple of warm days in a row the bite is extremely good.
Look for docks with good current movement and a little bit of tinted water. In this cold, they seem to like a little stain in the water, which in turn helps that reaction bite on artificial baits.
Some of the best baits consist of Yo-Zuri minnows or crank baits along with MirrOlure topwater plugs. You can also use DOA TerrorEyz or Shrimp that sit on the bottom where the big Snook are waiting to feed. Redfish up north by the power plant have been consistent and seemingly chewing pretty good on these mid 60’s days we’ve been blessed with recently”
If you are after that deep-sea creature in Stuart, FL, head a short distance offshore to get into cooler waters for much larger fish. Stuart, after all, is the “Sailfish Capital of the World.” Fly a kite, set the drift, troll in different depths, and explore all that Stuart has to offer on an Offshore Fishing Charter. Stuart is a great destination for offshore fishing because of the proximity of the Gulf Stream. This stream travels from the North to the South, bringing major pelagic and billfish to the warm waters of Stuart, FL. If you are looking for much larger fish, an offshore fishing charter would be the best bet!
When you are traveling to Stuart, most will overlook one an incredible experience that can change your life. Some of the world’s best bass fishing is within a short drive. Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing can provide your family that freshwater fishing experience that you are after. Hop on board with Captain Hunter as well for an Okeechobee City fishing adventure.
Now is a fantastic time to come explore what Lake Okeechobee has to offer. Once the water temperatures get right, the big female bass looks to spawn.
Current Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Report with Captain Hunter Weston
“Right now on great Lake O, we are getting skinnier and skinnier. Water levels are dropping making for great opportunities to cash in on some bigger fish. Fish that have been back in vegetation and in that normal 2-3′ water range are starting to move out towards main lake points and bays.
When you are adventuring out on the water, make sure to keep an eye out for clean water. Keep your eyes open for moving water and current. Observe paths and routes from the main lake to backwaters that can help you locate more fish. As the water continues to drop, the bass will have no other option but to find deeper water.
Shad are thick around outside grass and have good schools of bass hitting top waters, lipless crankbaits and spinner baits. Live wild caught shiners may be the most effective but artificial baits can provide you with a fun and rewarding experience. “
Lake Okeechobee can fulfill your freshwater dream as it is one of the best bass fishing lakes in Florida. Cast out artificial lures or live bait to land that TROPHY largemouth bass you have been hoping for. All year round, Lake Okeechobee can provide you with a fishing experience like no other. We look forward to seeing you on the water next time.
Our Local Expert:
“Hello my name is Captain Hunter Weston. I’m 27 years old from Stuart, FL. I’m a second generation native Floridian, born in Plantation, FL. I’ve been fishing since before I could remember; my father always tells a story of my first bass on my own was at two years old. How much of that is true, I’m not sure.
My earliest memories of fishing are from when I was four. I used to fish local tournaments with my father in the Everglades and on Lake Okeechobee. Since then I haven’t known life without bass fishing. I grew up primarily fishing Lake Okeechobee around some of the best anglers known to the sport. I always loved the idea of being a professional guide and giving people the opportunity to see the beauty and experiences fishing has to offer. Growing up with a father that guided professional gave me the tools and knowledge to feel confident in being successful at such a rewarding career.
At the age of 21, I joined the United States Coast Guard. I’ve been on active duty for the past six years. I’ve taken many lessons and fundamentals from my time served and have applied them to many different aspects of my life in order to make myself a well-rounded professional mariner and human being.
What you can experience with Captain Hunter:
My passion for the sport of fishing goes beyond a hobby, my wife likes to say it’s more of an obsession. If I’m not fishing, I’m thinking about fishing, my mind never stops. From fishing new water and finding the fish to getting them to bite and react to different baits. In this industry, if you’re not adapting and figuring out the fish on a daily basis, you’ll get left behind.
It’s a beautiful place that can humble you extremely fast. My love for bass fishing and Lake Okeechobee are beyond my power to express in words.
My expertise does not end at bass fishing; I’ve been inshore fishing in Stuart since I was twelve. I remember catching an over-slot Snook for the first time and having a whole new world open up to me. Drag screaming, acrobatic maneuvers, aggressive head shakes, it was an experience that got my attention as much as bass fishing. Since then I have pursued inshore species such as tarpon, redfish, permit, jack, and trout. One thing I love about saltwater is the chance to catch so many different species in one trip.
Another adventure I love to share with people is the pursuit of the beautiful peacock bass. The peacock bass was introduced here in South Florida in the 1980’s. Originally from the Amazon regions of South America, this fish is as ferocious as it is colorful. Sometimes putting up a fight you weren’t bargaining for.
As a matter of fact, from Lake Ida to Miami, I’ve fished for peacocks since I was 10. A very different experience that is undoubtedly unrivaled. Where ever you want to explore, I am your local expert. My goal is to provide you with the best Florida Fishing experience possible. I look forward to sharing experiences and memories with incredible people.”
Finally, Stuart is the perfect location for the ultimate Florida Fishing Experience. If you have never been to Stuart, FL, it is a must-see destination here in Florida with all things considered. We look forward to having the opportunity to explore what this destination has to offer with you. Hop on board with our local experts and they will help you experience a fishing adventure of a lifetime. Don’t forget to bring the family along with you!!

Whether you like freshwater or saltwater, Tampa has it all. Take a break from the Busch Gardens and the roller coasters and hop on board with one of our local experts.
One of the best ways to experience the Gulf of Mexico is a Tampa Inshore Fishing Charter. Our local experts spend numerous hours and days making sure that when you embark on your journey, you catch the species of your dreams. Captain Nick Halenkemp is one of our experts in the Tampa Bay area.
Captain Nick adventured out on the water recently and had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Tsutsumi and his son. These travelers were coming from Indiana looking for a unique experience near Tampa. Inshore fishing was a fantastic option for this father-son duo. The fishing conditions were tougher than normal because of weather variations but Captain Nick made it happen for them.
When it comes to Tampa Bay inshore fishing, bottom fishing is the most effective method. Our local experts use live shrimp but you can also use dead shrimp. Rig the shrimp on a jig head or on a knocker rig. Mr. Tsutsumi and his son caught several quality fish including a Sheepshead and Gag Grouper. It was a quick 6-hour fishing charter and this family had a fantastic time on the water.
Most of the fishing is focused on local reefs and wrecks inside Tampa Bay. Captain Nick is looking forward to getting back on the water with this family in the near future!
The best times to come explore the waters of Tampa are coming up. Don’t miss out on your inshore fishing experience on the west coast of Florida. The best time to come fish is the end of February throughout March for inshore fishing species including Redfish, Snook, Trout, Ladyfish and much more. If you are looking to come catch Cobia or Tarpon, explore the waters during our warm summer months.
Tampa, FL has a wide variety of outdoor activities that you can embark on. If you are looking for larger fish, hop on board one of our Tampa Offshore Fishing Charters. Offshore fishing is much different than inshore especially in the Gulf of Mexico. Shallow and warm waters provoke long drives offshore to deep sea waters.
One of the benefits of going far offshore is that you can find some much bigger fish. Drop a chicken rig or bottom rig for Large Grouper, Snapper or Amberjack. You can also troll the waters for Mahi-Mahi, Kingfish, and much more. The best offshore fishing is best when the weather is warm but waters are cooler.
Offshore fishing is a great option for those that love a long boat ride. If you are a traveler or angler that gets seasick, we have another exceptional option for you. When you are visiting Tampa, FL, don’t count out Freshwater bass fishing.
Tampa Bass Fishing Charters are perfect for the family looking for a relaxing activity with a lot of great action. Take a short drive north to Lake Tarpon in Tarpon Springs, FL. You will have a fantastic time on this clear water lake for largemouth bass. Numbers of quality bass can be caught all year long. We have several local experts that can help you and get you around some excellent
fish. Captain Mike Morse can help assist with all your freshwater Lake Tarpon needs! Most of the bass fishing is dominated with live bait but you can also catch bass on artificial lures including top water poppers and soft plastic worms.

Local experts are keys to success and enjoyment on the water. Their knowledge and experience will allow you to spend your time effectively. They will get you on the fish you are after. Captain Chris Davy is our local expert that brings and fills you in on this St Augustine Fishing Report.
St Augustine Inshore Fishing is a great way to spend time in the outdoors. If you are a saltwater fisherman, inshore fishing will get you around a variety of species. Whether you are on a pier or fishing from the surf, you have a lot of options. Getting on a fishing vessel with Captain Chris Davy is the better option allowing you to make changes, move around, and get you on the fish
faster.
Colder weather has the bite strong and lighter on some days. The best inshore fishing is around inlets, backwater canals, and jetties. If you are looking for some land-based fun, fish of Flagler Pier or along the beaches. Surf fishing can be tough with winds and rough surf.
The top inshore species to catch right now are Black Drum and Sea Trout. As temperatures get cooler, the drum bite gets even stronger. Now is not the time to come catch a gator trout but a great time to come catch slots. We always advise catch and release on gator trout to let the species continue to thrive. You can also have fun catching Redfish, Pompano, Bluefish, and Sheepshead.
Inshore fishing can be a great opportunity to go out saltwater fishing with no seasickness. It is also the perfect chance to get a kid or family member addicted to fishing, but there is an even better activity to make this happen near St Augustine, FL.
St Augustine Bass Fishing is another excellent outdoor activity that is on FIRE this time of year. Are you looking for a TROPHY largemouth bass? Well, the Rodman Reservoir with a local
expert and Captain Chris Davy or Captain Ken Walker can make your dreams come true. This fishing charter and activity are family friendly and perfect for the beginner angler.
Rodman Reservoir is a big bass factory and is one of the most breath-taking destinations to catch Florida largemouth bass. It is a short drive from St Augustine but is worth every minute. Enjoy a day on the water catching the biggest bass of your life. If you are a speck or crappie fisherman, all around St Augustine and North Florida, are great opportunities to catch a limit.
St Augustine Offshore Fishing is another great option for exploring this beautiful destination. The only consistent issue this time of year with offshore fishing is the weather. Winds pick up during our cooler months making it difficult to get offshore. If you can get offshore, you are in-store for some of the BEST fishing all year.
Offshore fishing is dominated with two styles of fishing: trolling or bottom fishing. Trolling is a great way to catch pelagic species including the thunderbolt or Wahoo! Now is also a great time to catch billfish including the might acrobatic Sailfish. Bottom fishing is another great method to catch tasty species including Snapper, Triggerfish, Sea Bass, and even Cobia on local wrecks and reefs.
All in All, our local experts have the knowledge and experience to catch you that fish you are after. Maybe, you aren’t after any particular species, they will show you what St Augustine is all about. Enjoy a nice cruise or action packed fishing adventure. Family Inshore Fishing Experience
Family Fishing is one of the BEST ways to bond. When you are traveling to Florida, make sure you discover all this state has to offer. A Family Inshore Fishing Experience in New Smyrna Beach, FL can provide you everything you are looking for. Whether you are after that trophy fish or just a great time, we have you covered. Hop on board with our local experts to get a true feel of North Florida.
Our local and professional experts in New Smyrna Beach, FL have years of experience. They spend hours and days on the water making sure that when you adventure out, you have the best time possible. Captain Brad Kayholm will be your local expert for inshore fishing. If you are looking to catch a Redfish in this area, there is no one better than him.
Here is what your family can experience when fishing in New Smyrna:
Captain Brad’s Family Fishing Experience
“My brother, Jeff, who I don’t get to see often, stayed an extra day to explore what New Smyrna Inshore Fishing had to offer. It was going to be a quick trip before they had to head home. When you don’t have much time, getting out during first light is essential.
I had not been out in a few days so we wanted to hit some spots to see what was happening. The first spot was not very productive with a few catfish eating up the baits. After several catches, it was time to move onto another location. When you explore New Smyrna Fishing, you are after that trophy fish. Sail cats may be fun to reel in but not our desired species. My 6-year-old nephew
Brindle from Pennsylvania caught his biggest fish ever. It was a sail cat. He loved the battle and gave him a lot of joy. It is moments like this that make for a great day of fishing. Of course, he wanted to take a photo with his fish. Grandpa Rick was waiting on the front of the boat. Grandpa says “Brindle, don’t drop that it will poke you” and then what happens, it slips out of his little hands and stabs Grandpa in the leg. The timing was absolutely perfect and quite hilarious. So with bloodshed and a numb leg, we moved on.
Next spot the bite was on. We finally found what we were looking for. One of the magical parts about fishing here in New Smyrna Beach is the abundance of fish. You can catch a wide variety of species. Ultimately, when you fish on my vessel, we are after a bull redfish.
It was an absolutely fantastic day on the water. My brother and Brindle were in heaven landing 4 out of 6 over 40″ redfish. After the bite slowed I wanted to check a spot where we caught drum a year ago.
After 15 minutes of no bites I said “It was to warm still and they just have not moved in quite yet.” Well, as a fishing Captain, I should have known to be more patient. Just shortly after, a school of Black Drum moved in and was red hot for about 25 minutes. We landed multiple Black Drum. It was an exciting bite with several double hook-ups along with missed strikes and encounters. Just as fast as it started, it turned right off.
Young kids are by far the hardest to please. As time was approaching to head in, Brindle kept saying how much he wanted to catch a redfish. I had an idea on where some might be with these conditions and timing. In just a few minutes, the drag started screaming.
After a strong and long battle, Brindles wish was granted. He caught his first Redfish. Another impressive moment was how he handled the fish all by himself, especially at the age of 6. It seems like he may be a natural fisherman, traits that definitely came from me, not my brother Jeff. I mentioned this to my family and we all got a good laugh in.
Brindle was absolutely fascinated with the shape and characteristics of the fish. We threw on a pair of sunglasses on the fish to style him up. Jeff landed another redfish and it was time to head in.
