Miami Offshore Fishing Report
Miami, FL is one of the most sought after fishing destinations in the world. You can experience some of the best fishing during the fall season. When you visit Miami, you are opening yourself up for a fishing adventure of a lifetime. Here is a Miami Offshore Fishing Report which consists of some clues to what is going to be biting during these times.
You may be drawn to Florida for beautiful weather, great beaches and exciting night life but don’t count of the exceptional fishing opportunities. If you are planning a vacation from September through November to Miami, you will be visiting during the prime offshore fishing months. Every offshore angler dreams about hunting down some of their favorite catches or to take a fish off their bucket list but you have to know your fish first!
September is a great month to continue to search for that bull dolphin or mahi-mahi. The Gulf Stream is still bringing them through Miami and provides potentials for you to catch great numbers of them. You can also troll some wrecks for king fish during the month of September. Both species enjoy big baits. Stop by your local tackle shop and pick up some ballyhoo. We would also advise to never travel offshore without live bait. You can find schools of pilchards along the beaches or you can also pick up a dozen or two from your local tackle shop. Live bait comes in handy when you come across a large school of fish and want to load the boat quickly. Run out to the largest weed line or structure you can find and hold on for the fight of your life.
October through November bring about the first cold snaps of the year. When this occurs, it will change the way we approach and fish especially offshore. Colder waters and temperatures bring in the sailfish. Live bait is most certainly the most effective method in catching this bill fish. Fly a kite and get ready to have some fun as you watch a sailfish circle your live pilchard or goggle-eye. Get out on the water and determine which depth and location these sailfish are moving in. Keep an eye out for action in shallow depths and jumping sailfish. Don’t count out the king fish from sky-rocketing through the water to chase or eat your live bait.
Swordfish Fishing is also going to be excellent during these months. Whether you want to catch them during the daytime or nighttime is your preference but make sure you know the different techniques in order to do so. Don’t count out bottom fishing throughout these months. Your local reefs and wrecks will have endless species that you can catch. The main species would be snapper. Not only are they incredible fun to catch but they are most certainly a treat. Snapper is one of the most delicious bottom fish you can catch. Throw out a chicken rig with some deep or live bait and hold on for a great bite.

Ponce Inlet Snapper Fishing
August was an amazing month for offshore fishing in New Smyrna Beach. Taking a quick cruise to the Atlantic Gulf Stream or the local reefs and wrecks produced a steady bite for its visitors. August was also the month that Red Snapper Season opened up for several weekends. Ponce Inlet Red Snapper Fishing was one of the best experiences here in North Florida along the east coast.
Just south of Daytona Beach, you will find the entrance to the great Atlantic Ocean. While cruising through the intercoastal waterways to get there, enjoy the sights and wonders of North Florida. As you travel out of Ponce Inlet make sure you capture Florida’s tallest lighthouse as the sun breaks the horizon.
Our local experts have years of experience cruising these waters and getting out to the local reefs for an abundance of species. Some of our experts have learned a variety of techniques including inshore fishing and offshore fishing. When the weather gets rough, you can always come in and catch some great species on lighter tackle. Ponce Inlet Offshore Fishing has been where it is at though when the weather permits.
Captain Brad Kayholm had the pleasure of fishing with Ariel and Tai. They were traveling from California and Japan to do business at a convention. It was a fun morning with the owners of Jackall Lures this summer. The fish were all fired up and ready to be caught. Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach gives access to some of the best waters to catch Red Snapper and Mango Snapper. Sometimes when you go out you come across other species that can change the plans or direction of your fishing adventure on a Ponce Inlet snapper fishing trip.
Ariel and Tai wanted to catch mango and red snapper. They got the mango snapper all fired up on the local reef and started reeling them in. It was awesome to have a school of great fish below the boat. Sometimes when you fire up a school and you put out bait and get the water chummed up, you happen to acquire some unwanted guests. Tai was looking for a good fight and he sure got one.
As they were reeling in a mango snapper left and right, they wanted to go for something bigger. Chunking out bigger bait and letting it get to the bottom, it was not long until something picked it up. Tai was in for a long 20 minute fight that he actually had to have Ariel assist him with. The tax men were in town and they brought one to the boat. They caught a 7 foot, roughly 200 pound reef shark. It was an awesome fight. You just never know what you will catch on a New Smyrna Beach Fishing Charter. When you bottom fish like such, you will always encounter sharks whether you are catching them or they steal your struggling fish you just hooked. 
After getting taxed as they call it, the bite slowed down. After some time, the red snapper moved in. Ariel and Tai had a lot of fun catching several of them before the bite shut off. It was not long after the bite shut down that we decided to move inshore in order to catch a Red Fish. Unfortunately this trip was on the weekend and the red fish were lock jawed.
Captain Brad had an awesome time with Ariel and Tai. They are looking forward to getting back on the water next time they visit Florida. Naples Snapper Fishing Charter
Have you ever asked yourself, “Can I Catch Snapper in Naples, Florida?” The answer to that is most certainly you can. Naples is one of the best destinations to catch a variety of different snapper that are absolutely delicious to eat. One of the benefits of fishing in Naples is that you can truly get to experience an offshore fishing trip. Many destinations across the state have areas you can offshore fish within 1-5 miles. Captain Mark Rogers adventured out on a perfect day for some fishing. Conditions were nice with 5-10 mph winds that kept the day cool and exciting. Eric, Doug, Katie and Dan were even more excited to get to travel offshore on our fishing charter. They were in store for an awesome day!
When Captain Mark arrived at the fishing grounds, the group immediately started catching them. Bottom Fishing is the tactic and method of choice when fishing in Naples. They were catching Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snappers, and short Groupers. Eric, Doug, Katie and Dan kept roughly half of the fish along with one keeper grouper.
Captain Mark had one heavy rod out for a larger grouper and the line went off while waiting. It was something big but we could not make out what it was. After a 30 minute battle, the fish surface and it was a 7 foot hammerhead shark. You never know what you will catch when adventuring out fishing here in Naples on a Naples Snapper Fishing Charter.
After bottom fishing, the group wanted to try some trolling. When trolling here offshore in Naples, you are in search for Spanish mackerel and big fish like King Mackerel or Kingfish. They were not able to connect with a Kingfish but found caught a Spanish mackerel. It was an exciting trip out in the Gulf of Mexico.

Inshore Naples Saltwater Fishing
While on vacation in Naples, one of the premier cities for saltwater fishing, enjoy a short cruise to the inshore waters to catch an abundance of Florida species. Depending on the conditions, you can be right off where your toes were in the sand the previous day. Most of the inshore fishing can be experienced very close to shore. The hard sandy bottoms allow for a variety of great species to be caught.
May and June are fantastic months to saltwater fish here in Naples. As our professional captains get the water ready for a battle of a lifetime with chum, enjoy the views of the cities and gorgeous paradise coast. Snook are beginning to cruise the beach lines and inshore waters especially during this time. Snappers, sheepshead, and lady fish are a more consistent catch. These hard bottoms especially in the month of June will attract small goliaths along with smaller sharks you can have fun fighting and catching. Blue Runners are also a great aggressive species to reel in which can provide excitement for anglers of all levels. Captain Nick Pasquarello and Captain Rick Mitchell cover an expansive amount of inshore waters to make sure they put you on the best fish possible! All year round you can find quality species and fish that are considered resident fish and don’t relocate to spawn.
The furthest you will ever go out on a Naples Inshore Fishing Charter would be 7 miles. The interesting part about fishing Naples is that you have to travel much further to get into deep water. At 7 miles out, you are only in 35 feet of water. Enjoy catching up to 60 fish while bottom fishing snappers along with the variety of other species listed. Small hooks and shrimp are the best method to catching these species. You can also count on catching bonito, Spanish mackerel and even blue fish while traveling and fishing these waters.
If conditions are not conducive to fishing that far off the coast, the mangroves would be the next destination. The mangroves hold excellent waters to catch Snook, mangrove snapper and lady fish. Using corks and shrimps keep the bite exciting for the vacationer looking to set the hook. Inshore species excluding the snook bite light so you have to set the hook gentle and often.
Offshore Naples Saltwater Fishing
While many anglers would enjoy inshore fishing, Naples also has some of the best offshore fishing in Southwest Florida. Take a beautiful boat ride to the offshore waters of Naples. Your professional captain will work endlessly to put you on fish in waters much deeper than the inshore. While fishing 9+ miles off the coast, enjoy fishing for species you can catch all year round.
While species may appear to be the same, they are not. Red Snappers which are a much more exciting species and harder fighter up to 8 pounds on average can be caught in deeper waters. Yellow Tail and Vermillion Snapper are also excellent catches to catch year round and strongest in the summer time. If you are looking for game fish like Kingfish, the best time to catch those are when the water is cooler in the winter time. You can also count on catching grouper of all sizes all year long.

Ponce Inlet Fishing Trip
One of the best things Florida Fishing has to offer is the ability to explore fresh or saltwater fish all year long. North Florida has an incredible opportunity to catch a variety of species on a Ponce Inlet Fishing Trip.
I had the pleasure of fishing with Casey and his girlfriend Elizabeth traveling from Tennessee for some of this North Florida action. Elizabeth is the daughter of a good friend of mine.
The weather was really nice and we made a great day out of the short time we had. We could not find something big but we put numbers of mangrove snapper in the boat. Mangroves are similar to bream in fresh water.
Mangrove snapper is quite delicious and you can most certainly keep a nice limit. Casey and Elizabeth were catching them up to 12 inches long.
Casey and I had a lot in common, as we both have a history of racing cars. Another amazing part about fishing is the ability to share stories and experiences with your clients.
We had a great time out on the water and I am looking forward to them fishing with us again. They want to come back and explore more of the inshore fishing here in North Florida to either catch some shark or cobia.
